Shipwheel Tables
Used to steer vessels for many nautical miles, these shipwheels belong to a client whose father was a boat builder and avid seaman. The patina of wear evident through many a swell and many a navigator’s hands is a hearken to the life of an adventurer and explorer. In an effort to preserve their memories, bases were made so the wheels could be inset and removed at any time, keeping the original integrity of the wheels intact. Quarter inch glass rests on rubber bumpers, for a sturdy end table that showcases all the minor details of these historical pieces. 22 inches high, these three bases were made to match their wheel counterparts of walnut, sapele, and mahogany.
